With my Step Up Club hat on, I support women (and men) to create and navigate change. I understand this auxiliary role. I have crafted it over many years. I am also very familiar with the WFH set up I have built and refined.
On the other hand, I have also fantasied about having an office to escape to; a team to lead, coffee pods on tap.
As of the 24th June, I have those things. If you didn’t read about it yet, I am now employed. And there has been a lot to learn. Who am I kidding. I am still learning, and my brain hurts most of the time.
Seeing as we all navigate change on a pretty much constant basis, here are my reflections on what I’ve noticed, as I transition from entrepreneur to employee.
Reading back through them, I notice these thoughts and observations apply just as fully to new jobs as they do all change in general. I hope they are helpful.
Change In Real Time: A Front Line Story
This 44 year old brain needs time to learn new tricks. And that’s ok. Day one, and the tech department hands me a Dell computer. I smile, offer a nod of thanks and then a little piece of me died inside. ‘A Dell?’
